Last Sunday felt like doing some "baking", so googled "no bake 'bars'" and found this recipe for no bake choc peanut butter bars (in Australia we say slice, not bars). Did a few of my own tweaks, seeing as we don't have Graham Crackers or Reeses Pieces.
Peanut butter and chocolate really is the ultimate combination. And this slice is the epitome of how heavenly that is.
BISCUIT LAYER
* 1 cup peanut butter
* 250g butter (half a block)
* 2 tsp vanilla extract
* 1*250g packet shredded wheatmeal biscuits, crushed (I pulsed in a blender)
* 2 cups icing sugar
CHOCOLATE LAYER
* 200g block milk chocolate
* 1/4 cup peanut butter
* Whitman's Peanut Butter chocolate block, chopped (for decoration)
2. In a large bowl combine biscuit crumbs, icing sugar and vanilla, and stir in the melted butters.
3. Line a slice pan with baking paper, and spread the mixture into it,
4. Melt chocolate and peanut butter together.
5. Pour over biscuit layer and distribute evenly.
6. Wait 5 or so minutes before sprinkling decoration on top.
8. Plough into it as soon as it's ready!!!!
*I used smooth peanut butter, but am sure you could use crunchy for a different effect.
Heaven, I'm in heaven, and my heart beats so that I can hardly speak...
